McCain has reasonn to smile about latest poll numbers..

McCain has fallen way behind in Minnesota and Iowa.. thats ok... those are numbers right after DNC. I think he has a better chance on catching Obama in Minnesota for several reasons including the convention being held in Minnesota. A reason to write off Iowa is the bums want us to pay our tax money for them to waste corn.
The good news is very simple. From polling during the DNC McCain holds a 47-45 lead in Ohio.

John McCain VP???

My opinion on whom Senator McCain should pick...
1. Sarah Palin- Alaska's Governor... fights corruption, pro-business,pro-life,pro-gun... attractive lady... http://palinforvp.blogspot.com/
2. Mitt Romney- Michigan+ Money... lots of folks think he could also help out west...

3. Tim Pawlenty- could do a good job, but I believe McCain needs to make a splash without having to introduce the VP. Sarah Palin would introduce herself I believe through increased media. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080728/NEWS/80728027/1056/NEWS09

* Bobby Jindal would be a good pick, but he has pulled himself out...

my rankings of whom I think McCain will pick
1. Romney
2. Pawlenty
3. Jindal
4. Palin

Pawlenty for VP?

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/07/23/is-mccain-inching-towards-pawlenty/
I think Pawlenty would be a good solid choice. I rank him in the second tier right below Palin and Romney as somewhat of a wash. I do think that naming a VP soon could benefit McCain in that he could double his presence across the country.
McCain runs the nitty gritty type of campaign that likes direct one on one contact. This is why the shrinking list of states in play benefits McCain and even more so benefits him if he has a solid VP out there campaigning and raising money with him.
2 questions to ponder with Pawlenty...
1. would he help to build McCain's support in the Dakotas and Montana? I do not know
2. how would he perform in Town Hall meetings?

Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, or Tim Pawlenty

In the order above are my top picks for VP.
Mitt has two very important reasons..... 1. MONEY/Economy 2. MICHIGAN
Sarah Palin..... 1. Is a outstanding women who would no doubt bring in Soccer moms(Virginia/Indiana) 2. I believe she may help in western states, given Alaska is not right next to all of the Western states it does face similar issues.
Tim Pawlenty... He could help bring Minnesota back into play, or maybe help in Michigan or Wisconsin. He is very likable and this could help him for the future.
