Today should be the beginning of a long war of ideas
Its a simple difference between the GOP and the Democrats. Democrats think it is fine that a host of countries drill 50 miles off of our coast... but they are against American oil companies drilling off of our coast. The GOP believes we should reverse the moratorium on drilling off the coast. The GOP should use this as a theme. The Democrats stuck in their liberal ideology refuse to do what is best for America.

Let's hope it is a debate on issues. After the last eight years, we need a new direction for the country on a whole host of issues.
Regarding energy, we need a balanced, multi-dimensional, robust and diversified plan for finding new supplies and using less energy. The market, new regulation, incentives, and innovation will all play a part in the transition to a more sensible and sustainable energy paradigm.
It's pretty clear you think McCain offers such leadership on this issue and others. Make the case on your blog and I'll participate in the debate.
